Internships & Research

Study, research, explore & gain real field experience in Indonesia

Whether you're looking for an internship, thesis research, field study, or a meaningful gap year, you'll become part of active rainforest restoration projects in Bali and Borneo.

Live and work alongside local communities, conservation practitioners, and researchers while contributing to real-world ecosystem restoration, and experience what conservation is really like beyond the classroom.

We actively collaborate with academic institutions and research partners to deepen our understanding of ecosystem restoration and to develop practical, scalable solutions.

We are always open to collaborations that create lasting value for ecosystems, advance knowledge, and empower the next generation to carry our legacy forward.

INTERNSHIPS & RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

We offer opportunities for:

  • Internships

  • Thesis projects (BSc / MSc)

  • Independent research

  • Field studies and applied research projects

All projects are embedded in active restoration work in Indonesia.

This is a strong fit if you:

  • are studying environmental, ecological, or sustainability-related fields

  • are comfortable working in dynamic, real-world conditions

  • are self-directed and proactive

  • want to contribute to meaningful, long-term impact

What makes this different

This is not a simulated research environment.

You will be working within living ecosystems, where variables are real, conditions are dynamic, and outcomes matter.

Design your own internship or research experience

We believe people learn the most when they work on something they genuinely care about.

Rather than fitting you into a predefined project, we design your internship or research around your interests, learning goals and university requirements wherever possible.

Whether your passion lies in ecology, conservation, forestry, biodiversity, sustainable agriculture, community engagement, GIS, data analysis, social development, animals or something entirely different, we'd love to explore how it fits within our rainforest restoration work.

After all, your generation will one day continue the legacy we're building today.

The more you learn, experience and discover while you're here, the better.

Already have an idea for your research or thesis?
Bring it with you. We're always happy to explore proposals that align with our mission.

IMPORTANT

Whether you're joining us for an internship, thesis research, field study, or gap year, you'll become part of a real conservation project, not a classroom.

For students and researchers, all projects are carried out as independent studies within your university programme, with academic guidance provided in collaboration with your supervising professor.

Gap-year participants become part of the team through hands-on conservation work, project support, and field experiences tailored to their interests and learning goals.

Whichever path you choose, we expect curiosity, initiative, and the willingness to take ownership in a real-world environment.
