Corporate Partnership Policy
Why this exists
Restore the Legacy collaborates with companies that wish to contribute to the protection and restoration of tropical rainforest ecosystems and the communities connected to them.
Corporate partnerships can play an important role in accelerating positive environmental impact. At the same time, such collaborations must be structured in a way that protects the independence, credibility, and integrity of Restore the Legacy.
This policy establishes the principles under which corporate partnerships may be developed and managed.
Guiding principle
Restore the Legacy welcomes corporate collaboration when it contributes to genuine environmental improvement and responsible practices.
Partnerships must never compromise:
-
Environmental integrity
-
Community wellbeing
-
Scientific credibility
-
Organisational independence
-
Public trust
All partnerships are evaluated in alignment with the organisation’s mission to restore and protect natural ecosystems.
Nature of corporate partnerships
Corporate partnerships with Restore the Legacy may include:
-
Financial support for restoration or conservation projects
-
Collaboration on research and innovation initiatives
-
Support for community-based environmental programs
-
Long-term ecosystem restoration partnerships
-
Educational collaboration related to sustainable land use and biodiversity
Each partnership is structured individually based on the objectives and scope of the collaboration.
Independence and scientific integrity
Restore the Legacy maintains full independence in:
-
Project design and implementation
-
Scientific methodology and ecological approaches
-
Monitoring and impact measurement
-
Reporting and communication of results
Corporate partners do not control or influence the organisation’s environmental methods, research outcomes, or public reporting.
Communication and claims
Corporate partners may communicate their support for Restore the Legacy’s work and may reference the environmental impact generated through their contribution.
Restore the Legacy provides partners with project-related data and impact information related to the initiatives they support. This information may be used by partners in sustainability reporting frameworks such as CSR, CSRD, GRI, ISO, or similar reporting standards.
However, partnerships must not be used to make misleading environmental claims or to imply that Restore the Legacy certifies, approves, or validates a company’s entire operations or sustainability performance.
Restore the Legacy does not provide:
-
Environmental certification of companies
-
Sustainability ratings of organisations
-
Endorsement of overall corporate activities
Any public communication referencing the partnership should be accurate, transparent, and proportionate to the actual collaboration and the specific impact generated through the supported projects.
Ethical alignment
Before entering a partnership, Restore the Legacy may conduct a basic review of the company’s activities to assess potential environmental, legal, or reputational risks.
The organisation reserves the right to decline or discontinue partnerships where activities are clearly incompatible with its mission or where collaboration could undermine environmental integrity or public trust.
Transparency
Corporate partnerships are managed within Restore the Legacy’s broader governance and financial oversight framework.
Where appropriate, partnerships and project support may be communicated transparently as part of the organisation’s reporting on activities and impact.
Commitment
Restore the Legacy believes that responsible collaboration between organisations, communities, and companies can accelerate positive environmental change.
By maintaining clear principles for corporate partnerships, the organisation ensures that collaboration strengthens, rather than compromises, its mission to restore and protect the world’s rainforest ecosystems.
